Judith G. Cruz was born on February 21, 1981 in Montalban, Rizal to spouses Servando Ayuson Cruz and Ma. Goretti Gacilo Cruz. Her father is a true native of Montalban while her mother hailed from Muntinlupa. She is second in a brood of four. She has two sisters and a brother. Her paternal grandfather, Marianito Cruz known as Lolo Itong, was a former Barangay Kagawad before becoming Acting Barangay Captain of Barangay San Isidro. She is also a niece of third-termer Board Member Rommel Ayuson of the lone district of Montalban (4th District of Rizal).
She finished her elementary grade school at Geronimo Elementary School in 1988 to 1994. Afterwards, she went to General Licerio Geronimo Memorial National High School from 1994 to 1998. She then took up Bachelor of Science in Education in Roosevelt College from 1998 to 2000. During those days, her father was the only bread winner being a driver by profession. They were three at that time that were simultaneously being sent to school so she had to talk to her parents that she will forego or discontinue her studies to somehow lessen the financial burden their family was experiencing then. So, she voluntarily stopped school and was able to find work. She experienced working as a cashier—first at Chowking, then followed in Max Restaurant, lastly at SM Cubao. With her moderate earnings, she was able to help her parents in sending to school her other siblings and successfully earned their diplomas in their perspective fields of education. At that time, when she was already earning money for herself, her enthusiasm to return to school faded gradually. But there was no feeling of regret, disappointment or feeling of failure for herself, not even a bit. For, deep in her heart, she knows that many can actually relate to her case. She was only too happy to have helped her siblings finish their individual baccalaureate course. That she considers a great achievement for herself, too. After her stint in SM Cubao, she was hired in Telemarketing at the American Stone Design or ASI located in Barangay Geronimo before entering the political arena.
Judith G. Cruz was first appointed Municipal Councilor in 2017 and was then elected in the same position in the local election held on May 13, 2019. She is hardworking, a very organized and motivated Municipal Councilor. She is an outgoing person and with a friendly personality, that she enjoys meeting different people and working with them to make a difference in their lives. She was re-elected Municipal Councilor in the recent May 9, 2022 national and local election garnering the second highest votes among the eight winning Councilors.
Aside from being a local legislator, she has a big heart for her fellow Montalbeños especially the poor and the marginalized by wholeheartedly giving financial assistance such as burial, medical and educational assistance through her own money for there is no funds in the office for such assistance. Until now, she kept in delivering her social services with the help of some friends and close kins which is known as SERBISYONG SIGURADO. She even goes to far-flung areas just to be able to bring some commercial goods to those who have no means to go to her office. One of the top-most priorities in her social services program is the giving of school supplies to Montalbeños student. It aims to sustain and support our young students in their pursuit of a better and brighter future through education.
Amidst the pandemic, when many of our “kababayans” were left jobless or underemployed, she launched the “JUDITH NA, DUE-DATE NA” public service initiative. It helps households in the payment of their water and electric bills. She also self-created a “PEOPLE’S DAY” in her office meant to give assistance, in cash and in kind, to those in need and adversely affected by pandemic. Her advocacy to help people gained her the love and respect of many Montalbeños who, in one way or another, became recipient of her devotion to public service and humanitarian assistance.
