MANDATE

One of the breakthroughs in the history of environment management is the devolution of Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) functions to Local Government Units as provided by Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code (LGC) of 1991.

Section 17 of Local Government Code stipulate that every LGU shares responsibility in the sustainable management and development of the environment and natural resources within their jurisdiction. As such they shall exercise the power and discharge the duties and functions devolved to them.

I. MISSION

Promotion of well-being of the local constituents through sustainable development of the forest resources, optimal utilization of lands and minerals, social equity and efficiency in resources use and effective holistic approach in environment management.

II. VISION

Envisage Montalban in verdant glory and a monument to Montalbeño’s determination for economic growth in harmony with nature.

III. OBJECTIVES

1. To successfully implement the devolved Environment and Natural Resources functions such as integration of environment protection programs and projects, as well as enforcement of environmental rules, laws and regulations.

2. To enhance and sustain local capabilities to developed and sustainably use the environment and natural resources within the jurisdiction of the municipality.

3. To provide extension services and technical assistance to beneficiaries of forest development projects and other stakeholders.

4. To promote and implement a holistic, efficient and effective solid waste management strategies.

5. To raise environmental awareness among the constituents and to help implement environmental laws, rules, and regulations.

IV. SERVICE PLEDGE

Environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, and depletion of natural resources threaten to destroy the

ecological systems that sustain life. Decisive action to make fundamental changes in our attitudes,

values, and ways of living are therefore necessary.

Hence, this office commits itself to:

Perform its duties with an awareness that in must develop,

 protect and judiciously utilize the natural wealth of our municipality for the public good.

Protect and restore the integrity of all ecological systems with special

concern for biodiversity.

Discharge the duties and responsibilities of this office with efficiency,

professional competence and transparency in keeping with the

designation as the municipality’s primary environmental and natural

resources protection department.

Ensure that resource prudence is exercised wherein resources are

managed and used with a view to optimized the well-being of people

over several generations without mortgaging the future.

Provide equal-opportunity service.

Application for Tree Cutting Clearance 

Application for Tarpaulins Lamp Post Installation Clearance

Application for Chainsaw Registration Clearance

Provide assistance on seedlings supply for tree planting activities/reforestation

Conduct environmental advocacy through Information Education Campaign

(IEC) and Information Education Services (IES)
